Achieving Excellence in High Performance Sport – the experiences and skills behind the medals is a new book by Wharton’s Sarah Rowell and co-author Tim Kyndt. Published by Bloomsbury, the book draws on twelve case studies of successful practitioners who worked ‘behind the medals’ in the build up to the London Olympic and Paralympic Games to pull out the key values, attitudes and behaviours required to succeed in the demanding world of high performance. Building on the practitioner development programmes that Sarah and Tim have run for the last eight years on behalf of UK Sport and the English Institute of Sport, the book is aimed at those who wish to follow an applied career working in elite sport.
