Following its commission in 2011 to support an audit of the performance and governance structures in place across the 14 Winter Olympic sports, Wharton Consulting has now been asked by the British Olympic Association to conduct further work to explore the feasibility of a British Olympic Winter Sports Institute. The project requires the examination of the 14 audit reports to draw out common needs and practices across the sports, and to investigate whether there is a single structure or approach which can supply or service these. Due for completion in January 2013, the project will form a key part of the BOA’s winter sports strategy following the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
